Methyl Bromide Cylinder

Methyl bromide cylinders are usually made of high-strength metal materials. This is because methyl bromide is gaseous at normal temperature and pressure, and needs to withstand a certain pressure to ensure that it is stored in liquid form. Steel has good pressure resistance and mechanical strength and can meet this requirement.
A special sealing device is equipped at the bottle mouth. Since methyl bromide is a toxic and harmful gas, good sealing performance is essential. Sealing materials are usually corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant materials, such as special rubber or plastic gaskets, to prevent methyl bromide leakage.
The valve is also a key part of the seal. The design of the valve must ensure that the inlet and outlet of methyl bromide can be accurately controlled during normal use, and reliable sealing can be achieved in the closed state. The valve usually adopts a structure that combines metal and sealing materials, and undergoes strict sealing tests.
Since methyl bromide is corrosive to a certain extent, the inside and outside of the gas cylinder are specially treated with anti-corrosion. Internal anti-corrosion treatment can prevent methyl bromide from chemically reacting with the inner wall of the gas cylinder, affecting the service life of the gas cylinder and the quality of methyl bromide; external anti-corrosion treatment can prevent the gas cylinder from being corroded under different environmental conditions.
Methyl bromide gas cylinders should be stored in a well-ventilated dedicated warehouse or storage area. Because methyl bromide is a toxic gas, if it leaks in a closed space, it is easy to accumulate to a dangerous concentration and cause harm to personnel health.
The storage and use environment should be away from fire sources, heat sources and flammable materials. Methyl bromide is a flammable gas, which may cause combustion or even explosion when encountering fire sources or high temperatures.
